Wharton Stretch Certification / Clinic
Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is one of the methods of stretching most used by today's athletes, massage therapists, personal/athletic trainers, and professionals. Jim and Phil Wharton are internationally known trainers and therapists who cultivated the renowned Active Isolated Stretch technique. Active Isolated Stretching allows the body to repair itself and also to prepare for daily activity. This method of stretching is also known to work with the body's natural physiological makeup to improve circulation and increase the elasticity of muscle joints and fascia. Twice a year LA PALESTRA hosts an AIS Certification Clinic run by the Wharton Clinic for LA PALESTRA trainers and the general public to attend.
LA PALESTRA CPM offers multi-level Pose Method of Running clinics throughout the year. Our coaches incorporate the Pose Method into a client's running pattern. The outcome is to work towards eliminating injuries, increasing flexibility, enhancing endurance, raising speed, reducing recovery time, and improving coordination. These 1.5 hour clinics include theory, drilling, and video analysis.
In addition to offering clinics for runners, LA PALESTRA CPM also certifies trainers to instruct the Pose Method. All qualified candidates attend a rigorous course schedule and take a written/practical exam where trainers must show above average competency in the method in order to become certified. LA PALESTRA is a certified Pose facility, and President Pat Manocchia has attained the highest level of Pose certification, which gives him the qualification of certifying trainers.
